WINNER PREMIUM HP series represents the highest level of quality in starting batteries worldwide and is manufactured using patented innovations in the field.
WINNER PREMIUM HP features high strength thanks to the use of expanded lead-calcium grids on both the positive and negative plates and thanks to reinforced low-resistance separators.
Main features of the series:
- High purity of raw materials that ensures corrosion resistance
- Use of the innovative “labyrinth” type design to collect and drain liquids, produced by gases during battery operation, into a built-in special container. This design prevents any leakage of electrolyte to the external environment and significantly extends the battery life.
- Vibration resistance thanks to compact construction
- Increased number of plates for higher cranking performance
- Flame retardant that prevents the possibility of explosion from a spark outdoors
- Built-in hygrometer that records the state of charge as follows:
The green indicator shows a fully charged state, when the density of the electrolyte is higher than 1,280 g/cm3.
The black indicator shows a partial charge state, when the density of the electrolyte is 1,220 g/cm3. Since the state of charge at 50% is considered the minimum level at which a vehicle can be started, the battery needs recharging soon.
In the event that no color indicator appears, it means that the density of the electrolyte is too low and the battery needs to be charged for at least 24 hours or replaced.
Main features of the lead-calcium technology incorporated in the PREMIUM HP series:
Maintenance Free – Long life. The use of a special calcium-lead alloy implies an extremely low level of electrolyte losses. If the battery is charged regularly, until it is exhausted, no maintenance is needed.
No recharge. The high level of refinement in the lead alloy guarantees a particularly low self-discharge rate and ensures high performance, even during long standby periods. In general, the self-discharge phenomenon is common in the majority of other lead-calcium batteries, due to the foreign impurities contained in the lead alloys that cause losses in electricity.
Overcharging without risk. Special alloys reduce the charge to an extremely low level when the battery is near full charge, thus eliminating the risk of overcharging. In general, when the battery is in a nearly full state of charge, provided the voltage is properly adjusted, the value of the charging current must be reduced in order for the battery to maintain its high performance for a long time.
No thermal runaway because the required charging current is relaxed when the battery is in a fully charged state at high temperatures to prevent overcharging. In general, when the battery is in almost full state of charge in hot places with temperatures above 70°C, the charging current decreases initially, but increases again soon due to the substances contained in the grid alloy. Thus, the grid is damaged and the performance deteriorates precisely because of the thermal runaway effect.
